Finding Joy in Serving

MOTHER AND SON JOIN OUR DISASTER RESPONSE TEAM ON THE GROUND IN NEW SOUTH WALES TO BRING FLOOD RELIEF.

While our volunteers in Port Macquarie cleaned out homes filled with mud and waterlogged belongings, they also comforted homeowners who lost priceless family memories. Meet two of our volunteers – Rachel and Jeremy. This mother and son team served for the first time with our Samaritan’s Purse Australian Disaster Relief team in Port Macquarie a few weeks ago. Together they helped homeowners in need. This was a special deployment for Rachel as she watched her fourteen-year-old son find joy in helping others!

Rachel and Jeremy are just two of the almost 200 dedicated disaster relief volunteers who have served with us during this major flood response. We are so grateful for their commitment.

Watch the video at the top of the article for Rachel’s inspiring story!
