Position Title: Australian Disaster Relief (ADR) Administration Assistant – Australia & New Zealand
Reporting to: Disaster Relief Manager
Type of Position: Permanent Part-time (3 days a week)
Location: National Office – Kings Park, Sydney
Samaritan’s Purse Australia (SPA) is a non-profit, Christian organisation providing emergency relief and development assistance to suffering people around the world. Samaritan’s Purse is meeting the physical needs of victims of war, famine, natural disaster, poverty and disease.
We are seeking a committed Christian to assist the National Disaster Relief Manager with varied administrative activities and to work closely with the Disaster Relief Operations team to support the overall efforts of the ministry and to ensure timely and effective delivery of the resources.
The position is permanent, part-time (3 days a week) based at the national head office in Kings Park NSW.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Within your assigned area of responsibility and influence:
• Supports administration and logistics of disaster relief operations.
• Provide general administrative support including email correspondence, phone calls, reports, and communications as may be required for the effective functioning of the department’s activities.
• Maintain a calendar of Disaster Relief events and meetings.
• Manage and maintain the Disaster Relief database.
• Coordinate travel schedules for volunteers and disaster relief staff.
• Create and write response situation reports, impact stories, and reports on key response information as required.
• Coordinate with support departments to provide up-to-date information during a disaster response.

• Thorough: Have good attention to detail, with emphasis on communication, time management and accurate record-keeping.
• Teamwork: Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
