The Greatest Journey in Cambodia

Chetra is a children’s teacher at New Life Krang Thnong Church in Takeo Province, who completed The Greatest Journey training in Phnom Penh and then returned to her home church with a dream in her heart. Here is Chetra’s story.

“After completing The Greatest Journey training in the city, I went back to my home church believing God would grow the program. With faith in my heart, I invited 200 children from my village to attend an Operation Christmas Child event.

After playing games, singing songs and sharing the love of Jesus with the children, we distributed the shoeboxes and I announced The Greatest Journey Discipleship program.

Some children came and 20 children finished the 12-week course and received their certificate of completion and a Bible. Now we disciple them as they grow in their faith.

For me, the most exciting part is watching the children seek God for their own lives and gain a deeper understanding of the Bible.

I see them walking into our church every Sunday carrying their Bibles; sometimes they have family members with them. The changes in these children are evident.

What’s more, two children brought their mother to church and she became a Christian. Another one of our boys prayed for his sick father and he was healed.

This is an amazing program, we thank you so much, Samaritan’s Purse for helping the people of Cambodia with shoeboxes and with The Greatest Journey program.”
