Empowering Rural Villages to Help Mothers and Children
2 May 2024
A Samaritan’s Purse community-based maternal child health program is saving lives and showing the love of Jesus Christ in Liberia’s remote villages.
In early January 2020, massive bushfires burned out of control through areas of the NSW south coast. Over 499,621 hectares was burned, and over 74 days, destroying 394 homes. Samaritan’s Purse responded by deploying our Disaster Relief Unit and a volunteer team to Batemans Bay, NSW to meet the needs of bushfire-affected communities along the south coast. Partnering with local churches in the area, volunteers were able to clean properties, cut trees, sift through ashes, and offer physical and emotional support hundreds of individuals affected by the fires.
