What We Do

Education provides the building blocks for a future free from poverty. Millions of children and adults around the world cannot read or write. To help break this cycle, Samaritan’s Purse is working to provide quality education and vocational training in countries such as Cambodia and the Philippines. We build schools in low-income communities and provide resources such as desks, chalkboards and school supplies, as well as run programs such as We Can Read and Write. Our education projects include: education and literacy, school building, equipping teachers and vocational training.

Education and Literacy

A quality education can lift marginalised children and adults out of the cycle of poverty, equipping them to support themselves and their families. Samaritan’s Purse works with partners around the world to provide people with basic educational opportunities.

School building

Samaritan’s Purse builds schools in low-income communities and provide resources such as desks, chalkboards and school supplies, as well as run programs such as We Can Read and Write. Watch how we’re improving education in students’ lives.

Equipping Teachers

Samaritan’s Purse provides training and works alongside local governments to produce a standard curriculum to empower teachers with the skills to impact hundreds of young people.

Vocational Training

Samaritan’s Purse reaches out to these young people, providing the training and resources for sewing, food service, construction, auto mechanics and other productive livelihoods so that they can earn a living and build a future.
