Intense rain led to a “one-in-500-year” flood disaster spanning over 16 Local Government Areas across NSW’s Hunter and Mid North Coast. Five lives were lost and tens of thousands of residents have suffered damage to their homes.
Our Australian Disaster Relief team deployed to the flood disaster zone of Taree, NSW, with volunteers helping residents in Taree, Wingham and surrounding areas from Thursday 29 May through to Saturday 28 June. We partnered with Faith Family Church Taree (147 Cowper Street, Taree) to operate as a base of operations for our volunteer deployment and helped local residents clean up after the floods, and provide hope in Jesus’ Name.
Thank you to everyone who volunteered, prayed and financially supported this deployment.
We still have church partners on the ground that we are supporting who are able to help flood-affected residents. Please email taree@samaritanspurse.org.au if you or someone you know is in need of assistance.

When devastating floodwaters submerged Debbie’s Taree home, trapping 14 family members and destroying cherished belongings, Samaritan’s Purse volunteers brought hope, practical help, and emotional support in the aftermath.
