Church Partners

During times of crisis, Samaritan’s Purse works alongside churches to bring hope to their local community.

As well as equipping and empowering churches to reach people who are hurting or struggling, when a disaster strikes, we partner with the local church to meet the critical needs of disaster-affected families and individuals.

Together, we help communities with the long-term recovery after a crisis is over, while sharing God’s love.

Get Involved:

Is your church looking for a practical way to be a light in your community? Then, partnering with Samaritan’s Purse may be the right fit for you.

Here are five ways your church can partner with us:

  1. Pray. Be a consistent, active prayer partner for our work.
  2. Give. By supporting us financially, your church can equip our teams to be ready to serve at a moment’s notice.
  3. Go. Join us during a disaster response. Anyone from your church is welcome to volunteer, individually and as a group! Serving with Samaritan’s Purse during a disaster deployment can be a great short-term mission opportunity for your church.
  4. Host. Become a host church and serve as the base of operations for our disaster relief team during a disaster response. Hosting can include providing meals, billeting, laundry, and other hospitality support for our hard-working volunteers.
  5. Engage. Beyond a natural disaster, there are many needs in communities across Australia where the local church has an opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ. We come alongside these churches to support their voluntary work in the community, and empower them to facilitate short-term relief and outreach projects.

Sharing Hope in Crisis:

Samaritan’s Purse also partners with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association’s Rapid Response Team to deploy crisis-trained chaplains alongside our disaster relief volunteers. As well as providing emotional and spiritual support to disaster victims, the chaplains offer a free ‘Sharing Hope in Crisis’ seminar to churches interested in learning how to better communicate with those hurting during a crisis.
