Samaritan’s Purse Australia has recorded more than 100 work orders across Taree and the surrounding region—areas that have been devastated by some of the worst flooding on record. Families have lost homes, memories, and in many cases, hope.

But in the midst of this hardship, God has opened doors for our teams to serve in Jesus’ Name. Working alongside local churches, we’re equipping volunteers to be the hands and feet of Christ—coming alongside homeowners, many of whom already endured terrible flooding back in 2021. For some, this is the second or even third
time they’ve had to watch floodwaters invade their homes. Their pain is not just physical—it’s emotional and spiritual.

I thank God for the hundreds of believers from across Australia who have stepped forward with compassion and courage, reminding these families that “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1). So far, more than 300 volunteers have rolled up their sleeves to help remove flood-damaged furniture and flooring, clean up treasured belongings, and—most importantly—share hope with people who feel forgotten.

We give thanks for the Lord leading our teams towards those who needed help the most and for the Holy Spirit working through every conversation and every act of service. I’m also deeply grateful for our Billy Graham Rapid Response Team chaplains who ministered to the brokenhearted while helping answer the tough question so many are asking: “Why would God allow this?”

Even in the darkest valley, Jesus Christ is the Light. And wherever we go, we want people to know that they are not alone—God has not abandoned them. He loves them, and He sent His Son to save them.

Thank you for standing with us.
