Cyclone Oswald triggered torrential rain and a series of tornados which resulted in devastating floods throughout Queensland. Bundaberg was one of the worst affected regions as the Burnett River peaked at a record 9.6 metres, damaging approximately 2,000 homes and businesses and leaving 7,500 residents displaced.
Samaritan’s Purse deployed a disaster response team to Bundaberg and worked with around 65 volunteers to clean flood-affected properties over a 3-month period.
