Intense rain led to a “one-in-500-year” flood disaster spanning over 16 Local Government Areas across NSW’s Hunter and Mid North Coast. Five lives were lost and tens of thousands of residents have suffered damage to their homes.
Our Australian Disaster Relief leadership team has deployed to the flood disaster zone of Taree, NSW, with volunteers helping residents in Taree, Wingham and surrounding areas from Thursday 29 May. We are partnering with Faith Family Church Taree (147 Cowper Street, Taree) to operate as a base of operations for our volunteer deployment and plan to be helping local residents clean up after the floods, and provide hope in Jesus’ Name for at least 4 weeks. Sign up to volunteer.
Chaplains from the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team are also joining this response to provide spiritual and chaplaincy support.
We’re in need of more volunteers to step in and bring hope during these crucial weeks, whether for a day, a week, or more. If you can’t be there in person, you can still make a difference through remembering us in prayer or supporting us financially.
