Your support will enable us to help our current responses and to mobilise quickly when future disasters strike Australian communities.
In May and June 2025, severe flooding caused the Manning River to burst its banks, devastating farms, homes, and communities across the Manning Valley on the NSW Mid North Coast. As floodwaters receded, hundreds of families were left facing damaged, and in some cases uninhabitable, homes.
In the immediate aftermath, more than 330 Samaritan’s Purse volunteers came alongside local homeowners, offering comfort and hope. Collectively, they gave over 9,000 hours of volunteer service; clearing mud, removing damaged furniture, sanitising homes, and helping families begin to see a way forward. Even in the midst of devastation, our teams witnessed remarkable resilience and hope.
Now, we’re returning to Taree.
From 13 January 2026, Samaritan’s Purse volunteer teams will once again serve homeowners in Taree and surrounding communities, helping families take the next critical steps toward coming home. This next phase of recovery will include resheeting walls, installing kitchens and bathrooms, cabinetry, and yard work—practical assistance that restores stability, and hope.
Once again, our teams will serve in Jesus’ Name, offering not only hands-on help but also encouragement and prayer—reminding families that they are not forgotten and not alone.
If you have a heart to serve—or trade skills to share—we invite you to join us.
