Education initiative

Dear Friend,

Jesus Christ was busy teaching one day when little children were brought to Him for His blessing.

His disciples tried to usher them away, but the Lord said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of Heaven.” (Matthew 19:14).

In parts of Cambodia and Vietnam, God has given Samaritan’s Purse opportunities to demonstrate His heart for children, as we have worked to build dozens of schools.

Children growing up in poverty in Southeast Asia are vulnerable to exploitation, and human trafficking. A good education is a great start to a better and more secure life. Once children learn to read, not only will they have a marketable skill, but Christian neighbours can introduce them to the truths of the Bible.

I’m encouraged by the ways God is opening doors for our work in Southeast Asia. I’ve had the opportunity to preach in Vietnam the last two years, and in 2024 Samaritan’s Purse was given unprecedented permission for our cargo jets to land in Vietnam to help the victims of Typhoon Yagi. We’ve had field offices in Cambodia and Vietnam for more than a decade, developing projects that provide clean water, agricultural assistance, and livelihood training. Almost 9,000 Cambodian children have benefitted from our literacy programs.

Schools and vocational centres are a perfect complement to these projects, as they represent a brighter future for generations of children. Too many children have been denied an education because of a lack of classroom facilities.

Thank you for your prayers and support for these schools and for other Samaritan’s Purse projects around the world.

May God richly bless you,

Franklin Graham

Help Build Our 50th School in Cambodia

For more than 50 years, Samaritan’s Purse has served people in need around the world in Jesus’ Name. In Cambodia, your generosity—together with volunteers, church partners and advocates—has helped build 49 schools, bringing quality, hope for the future, accessibility and long-lasting education to remote communities.

As we celebrate what has been achieved through the faithful support of so many in Australia and New Zealand, we invite you to help change the future for the next generation of children in Cambodia—in Jesus’ Name—by partnering with us to build the 50th school.

Your Impact Through Samaritan’s Purse Education Projects

Playing Beyond Sight in Vietnam

Blind since infancy, 22-year-old An overcame hardship and stigma to become an award-winning violinist, using her music to inspire others and express gratitude to Samaritan’s Purse for supporting her journey.

Play Provides the Foundation for Learning

In rural Cambodia’s Pailin province, a once run-down school has transformed into a vibrant learning space where children like 12-year-old Kimsan thrive, thanks to improved facilities, trained teachers, and supporters in Jesus’ Name.

Building Better Education in Cambodia

In 2020, Samaritan’s Purse built Cheng Meng Primary School, giving Sochantha and her classmates a safe, well-equipped place to learn and dream. Today, that spark burns brighter than ever.

Donate to Education Projects

Education provides the building blocks for a future free from poverty. Millions of children and adults around the world cannot read or write. To help break this cycle, Samaritan’s Purse is working to provide quality education and vocational training in countries such as Cambodia and Vietnam.

Your donation will help build schools, develop skilled teachers and provide school supplies.
